Your storyboards depict a lot of the set up (what happens before the cat eats the cat nip) but not a lot of what I assume is the psychedelic sequence. This sequence would be where most of the complex animation is taking place, yes? If so, you need to plan that out, as well. I think the idea allows for a lot of great visual play. I vote no on the stop motion and yes on the rotoscope if you are trying to choose between the two.
